On January 4th at 8 pm, meet animal lover Edie Adler. Edie was a frequent visitor to the pound, always keeping an eye out for animals to rescue. On one reconnaissance mission, Edie found Troy, a one-year-old German Shepherd. Edie brought him home and he instantly turned on the other pets. The Adlers hired a dog trainer to work on the aggression, but after three sessions, there was no progress. They elected to keep Troy behind their backyard gate, separated from the other animals. Can Cesar improve Troy's good behavior and keep him out of solitary confinement?
Also in this episode: Kim and Joel Givens bought Rat Terrier Roxy from a breeder when she was just a puppy. They wanted a calm dog that would get along with the children they planned to have. But they made some mistakes when raising her. Whenever dogs would come near on a walk, Kim would immediately pick Roxy up to protect her. Now, when two-year-old Roxy encounters a dog, she growls and cowers until the dog leaves. Roxy is so timid that when a guest comes to the house, or a sudden noise disturbs her, she pees on the floor. Kim wants to walk with the newest addition to her "pack," her two-month-old baby named Brennan, but Roxy seems terrified of the stroller. Roxy isn't getting all of the exercise she needs, and her tinkling problem is escalating. The Givens call in Cesar to help clean up Roxy's uncontrollable urination problem.
On January 11th, Dog Whisperer travels to the home of beagle fanatic Julie Levine. Julie started collecting beagle memorabilia when she was eight and wears a beagle shirt almost everyday. When her real-life beagle Gizmo was a year old, he went to basic obedience school, two more advanced obedience classes, and a dog trick class. Now, at six years old, Gizmo has become very aggressive. Julie can't even pick him up, or he will lash out and bite her. To Julie, this visit from Cesar is like winning the lottery. But will Cesar be able to calm this belligerent Beagle, or has his luck run out
Next, Jennifer Lee Pryor has devoted her life to promoting the legacy of her late husband, comedian Richard Pryor. Her rescue organization, Pryor's Planet, boasts 47 dogs, each looking for a home of their own. Two of the dogs are being fostered by Jennifer herself, and her own four dogs keep them company. Fights have broken out among the dogs, and Jennifer's attempts to sweet talk them just aren't working. Can Cesar give Jennifer a new perspective on her pack so she can claim her position as top dog?
Then, on January 18th, Cesar visits Caryn Lebduska's vast horse ranch. But with all 25 horses under her control, it's Caryn's 3-year-old Rottweiler Buffy who is giving her the most trouble. Buffy has a dangerous obsession with the horses, especially the newborn foals. Caryn has never experienced this obsessive type of behavior before. She has trained Buffy to stay outside the corral, but now, Buffy seems to be testing her limits. Caryn is frightened that Buffy will start jumping through the gate into the horse ring. Will Cesar succeed in roping in this Rottie?
In 2005, Yorkshire terrier Cody suddenly stopped retrieving toys - formerly one of his passions. His owner Olivia took him to a pet ophthalmologist who told Olivia that Cody had congenital retinal atrophy and was already blind in his left eye. Two weeks later, Cody had a seizure, and Olivia realized that her dog was completely blind. Now that Cody can't see at all, he won't allow Olivia to have company in the house. He barks when people come over and bites at their clothes. He'll rummage through the guests' belongings trying to get a cell phone or another article, and when the guests try to retrieve the item, he will growl and bite their hands. Will Cesar give Cody insight into a more pleasant life?
Monica Allgeier and her roommate Desi fell in with a tiny Peek-a-Poo puppy they found in a pet store. Monica showered her Pekingese/Poodle hybrid with affection from day one, and taught the intelligent pup - now named Chloe - how to sit and lie down when she was only four months old. But Monica's lack of discipline in other areas began to manifest itself in Chloe's behavior. Chloe will growl, snap, and bite to get her way. When Chloe latches on to something she wants, she'll growl and won't give it back - to the point of lunging and biting. Her problems are escalating every day, and Monica only seems to be making it worse. Monica misses the loving, sweet, and affectionate Chloe. Can Cesar help Monica make this Peek-a-Poo's aggression disappear?
