  • DOG WHISPERER IN MARCH: Denise Richards, Jeanie Buss, and the Laker dog

During the month of March, Cesar pays a visit to two well-known celebrities to help them with their canine problems.

Airing Friday, March 10 - Actress and model Denise Richards has owned three dogs since they were puppies. Her canine clan includes Lucy, a 6-year old Boston Terrier, Hank, a 6-year old French Bulldog and Betty, a 5-year old Pug.

Betty is great with Denise's kids, but is terrible when people come to their house. Her aggression has even escalated to bites, and Denise realizes she's vulnerable to lawsuits. Betty is also over-protective of Denise and seems to act more aggressively around people when Denise is home. Lucy and Betty compete to be the Alpha dog. They have bitten each other and have even drawn blood.

No matter what Denise tries to do, she cannot control her dogs. Can Cesar bring harmony to this pack of wild things?

Friday, March 31 - Jeanie Buss, Executive Vice President of Operations for the Los Angeles Lakers, is one of the highest ranking female executives in professional sports. She is responsible for overseeing the team's relationships with its broadcasting partners and is heavily involved in marketing. As if that wasn't enough, Jeanie has to deal with the split personalities of her Maltese, Princess. At times, the fluffy dog is cute and cuddly, but often in the presence of company, Princess is hardly a princess. Jeanie's boyfriend and coach of the L.A. Lakers, Phil Jackson, has given her the nickname Cujo, because of her aggressive nipping and barking.

Jeanie can handle the affairs of fifteen basketball superstars, but she can't control her own dog. Will Cesar be able to end the reign of Princess Cujo and restore Jeanie back to her NBA throne?

DON'T FORGET TO WATCH DOG WHISPERER EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT AT 8P.M. ET/PT, ON THE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CHANNEL. CHECK YOUR LOCAL LISTINGS FOR DETAILS!

    "Cesar's Way" - A preview of Cesar's new book

"I rehabilitate dogs. I train people."
    - Cesar Millan

There are at least 68 million dogs in America, and their owners lavish billions of dollars on them every year. So why do so many pampered pets have problems? In this definitive and accessible guide, Cesar Millan - star of National Geographic Channel's hit show Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan - reveals what dogs truly need to live a happy and fulfilled life.

From his appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show to his roster of celebrity clients to his reality television series, Cesar Millan is America's most sought-after dog-behavior expert. But Cesar is not a trainer in the traditional sense - his expertise lies in his unique ability to comprehend dog psychology. Tracing his own amazing journey from a clay-walled farm in Mexico to the celebrity palaces of Los Angeles, Cesar recounts how he learned what makes dogs tick. In Cesar's Way, he shares this wisdom, laying the groundwork for you to have stronger, more satisfying relationships with your canine companions.

FROM CESAR'S NGC BLOG: How the Family's Behavior can Affect Balance in Dogs

A healthy family should be able to function as one unit. Like dogs, we are pack-oriented, though some family members often insist on acting entirely independent. I'll admit I was guilty of such behavior myself!

Early in my marriage, not long after my first son Andre was born, I pretty much let my wife know that the “family” was her problem - I was all about me, my goals, and my career. Despite the fact that I was working with a pack of dogs all day, in regards to my own life, I actually forgot about the whole pack concept when it came to my family!

Needless to say, in order for our family to work, I had to get back with the program and learn to cooperate with and support each other. We all needed to follow rules, boundaries, and limitations. This sense of teamwork translates well if your family has a dog.
