On April 4th, my first book hits the stores!




Its title is Cesar's Way: The Natural, Commonsense Guide to Understanding and Correcting Common Dog Problems. It is published by Harmony Books and you'll be able to find it at any major bookstore or online.

CESAR'S WAY contains the basics of my philosophy about animals, energy, and dog psychology. It features the details of my three-part fulfillment formula for all dogs (if you watch DOG WHISPERER, you already know the basics - Exercise, Discipline, and Affection - in that order!). It also includes much of my life story and the genesis of my method of rehabilitating dogs and training their owners. I didn't come up with this theory overnight - in fact, I didn't come up with it at all. Mother Nature did. I'm just her "spokesperson."

My co-author and I hope you'll find the book informative, illuminating, and entertaining. For me, working on it this past summer was a labor of love. I've dedicated it to my grandfather, the man who taught me to never work against Mother Nature when working with animals.

Friday, April 7 - Cesar has been rehabilitating three dogs rescued from Hurricane Katrina at his center in Los Angeles.


The female Rottweiler, male Akita mix, and male Lab mix are doing well under Cesar's care, but all must be spayed and neutered. While the search continues for the dogs' original owners, veterinarian Dr. Debra Oliver donates her time and services to treat the Katrina dogs free of charge. Homecoming plays a big emotional part in this chapter of "Katrina Dogs."

Friday, April 28 - In early 2005, Rachel Vosko and Linda Kearse, in association with Heaven Can Wait Sanctuary, launched "Pups on Parole," a program at the Southern Nevada Women's Correctional Center that rehabilitates dogs and prisoners. The dogs are literally marked for death, unless they are adopted. They are brought to the correctional center for their last chance at life. Only forty women of the 600 at this maximum security prison are allowed in the program. Rachel assists the women in rehabilitating the dogs, but there are some things that even she doesn't know how to fix.

At one of his seminars, Rachel hunted down Cesar and asked him to come to the prison and do some hands-one work with the women in the program. Of course, he said, "Yes, anything for a dog!" This powerful segment shows how "the power of the pack" works for both wayward dogs - and wayward humans.

Cesar Millan has teamed up with Much Love Animal Rescue to help find safe, loving homes for unwanted, neglected and/or abused animals.


The organization is currently seeking grants, sponsors and donations to renovate and upgrade their no-kill shelter which would provide temporary housing for rescued animals until permanent, loving homes are found. Check out their website, MuchLove.org, to donate and to check out the many animals available for adoption, including five dogs trained by Cesar at the Dog Psychology Center.

Every animal at Much Love is spayed or neutered, inoculated and microchipped to ensure if they are ever lost, Much Love will always be contacted. Because of Much Love's policy of performing home checks for possible adoptions or foster homes, they are unable to facilitate the adoption of pets to applicants outside the greater Los Angeles area.

This month's tip from Cesar: Don't expect more from your dog(s) than your own children. Dogs need discipline, too. Give them rules, boundaries, and limitations as well as love.
