Sneak Peek at the New Season! |

In the third season of Dog Whisperer, Cesar travels across the United States to help dog owners! Here are some highlights from the premiere episode:
Cesar helps a family recover from a traumatic accident that resulted in Australian Shepherd puppy Kobe losing an eye. Five years later, Kobe’s fear has turned into aggression, and the family is living in isolation. Will Cesar be able to restore balance to the family and allow them to share their dog with neighbors and friends?
When the Humane Society of Nebraska rescued Coon Hound Banjo from an animal-testing lab where his only human contact was a technician who came to draw his blood, he was deemed "too fearful” to be adopted. He was only hours away from being euthanized when he caught the eye of volunteer Beverly Lachney. Four years later, he’s still terrified of people - including Beverly. Will Cesar be able to help this traumatized pet recover?
When Kitten K. Sera walks her Maltese named Kisses, it’s not uncommon for people to stop and take their picture - because Kitten’s dyed her tiny dog cotton-candy pink! Kisses may be adorable, but she’s also high-maintenance. She snaps at her owner’s heels as she walks around her apartment, and becomes aggressive when chewing on her favorite pig. Another not-so-pretty habit occurs when Kitten’s old roommate drops by to visit. Kisses gets so excited that she pees on the carpet. Can Cesar restore harmony to Kitten and Kisses’ pink world?
From a devil Dalmatian that heats up a firehouse to a French bulldog kicked out of doggy day care to a tire-eating blue heeler, the third season features some of Cesar’s toughest cases yet!

| Cesar Answers Common Questions from Fans |
Cesar takes the time to answer frequently asked questions from dog lovers and fans. Find out where Cesar got his Dog Whisperer status and how to be a good PACK LEADER!
What makes you the Dog Whisperer?
I was raised around dogs, and I understand the way they interact socially. My ability to relate to them is really instinctual…I can see the world from the dog’s point of view.
Do you have formal training?
My grandfather taught me at an early age about how not to work against Mother Nature. Since then, my formal training has been to work with literally thousands of dogs. I’m a real-world behaviorist - I work with dogs every day, and my methods achieve results.
How are you different from most dog trainers?
Most training seeks to teach dogs how to obey commands, but this has nothing to do with dog psychology, or understanding how to fulfill the needs of your dog. My technique is more about rehabilitation through exercise, discipline and affection.

Alpha bet: It'll work on kids, too - by John Grogan |
When my wife, Jenny, told me the Dog Whisperer would be coming to our home to help us become better pet parents, I admit I rolled my eyes.
I am a plenty fine pet parent. My pets run all over me, and I put up with it. You got a problem with that?
Regardless, it seemed this whisperer guy was arriving a little too late.
After all, our famously bad-boy Labrador retriever, Marley, shredder of couches and flinger of drool, had long ago departed for that great obedience school in the sky. His replacement, a shy, sedate female named Gracie, is so good she is boring.
"Um, is there something he needs to whisper to me?" I asked.

The Illusion Dog Training Collar and Leash Set Release |

Cesar and Illusion are happy to hear the positive feedback from those of you who took advantage of the pre-order. Please keep sending the success stories our way!
Thanks to Cathy Netherland of San Clemente, CA for allowing us to share this photo of Dogo Argentino Bodhi.
"I was using a pinch collar and that didn’t even begin to faze him. The Illusion collar works!!!! I can walk him without dislocating my shoulder.” - Cathy
"We have a ton of collars and harnesses, buying everything that came along that made it look like it would be easier to walk this intractable Aussie. I decided to take a chance and pre-order the Illusion Collar. We received it yesterday and found it easy to fit to the dog, and even more important, the first time we put it on Kira she ‘forged ahead’ like she usually does for about 5 seconds, made a little ‘coughing sound’ but was obviously not in distress. Then she relaxed and stayed right at my husband’s side as he walked her. I’m looking out the window at Jeff walking her down the street with the dog AT HIS SIDE. Makes me so happy I want to cry - for once Jeff walks dog instead of dog walks Jeff! Thank you!” - Lynne Black, Reno, NV
The Illusion Dog Training Collar and Leash Set officially when on sale October 5th!

Profiles of Pack Members: When Cesar met Sid |
It was fate that brought Sid to the pack! While at the Oklahoma seminar sponsored by the French Bulldog Club of America Rescue League, Cesar voiced his desire for a fawn French Bulldog. It just so happened Juanita Imperiale of Michigan had a show-stopper that she just didn’t have enough time for!
Two-year-old Sid is a show-quality dog, but he was a bit active in the ring. Juanita adored the little guy and would have loved to work with him if he had been her only dog, but she had 21 dogs to care for and a few humans on top of that! She just didn’t have enough time to devote to Sid and felt it wasn’t fair to him. She was sure healthy, athletic Sid would have a better life at the Dog Psychology Center with Cesar.
"As breeders, we take our responsibility for the French Bulldogs Breed very seriously. We go to great lengths to strive for health and longevity in our breeding program. We place our dogs VERY carefully. Not everyone should own a French Bulldog,” Juanita says. "Not all French bulldogs could keep up with Cesar's lifestyle and the climate he resides in.”
Before giving him up, she made Cesar promise that he would never give Sid up and that, if for some reason he had to, he would return Sid to her.
So Juanita had him neutered, and the production team arranged to pick him up in Ohio and take him on their road trip to Philadelphia for the next shoot. The crew fell in love with quirky, active Sid! His show training skills made for fun party tricks, and he took well to the pack, instantly bonding with Chihuahua Coco and Chinese-Crested Louis with whom he likes to play chase. Another endearing trait: he snores when he sleeps!
For more information on the breed, visit the French Bulldog Rescue League website http://www.fbdcarl.org, or contact Juanita, their Director of Education, at buldane@wideopenwest.com. |
Success Story & Next Month's Newsletter |
Read next month for more tips, live appearances and to learn about another member of Cesar’s pack, Chihuahua Coco. In the meantime, here’s our featured success story:
I am writing to let you know that I went to the seminar in Columbus, Ohio and loved it. I have been a fan of the TV show "Dog Whisperer" and have read the book and have all the DVDs.
The reason why Cesar's method is so special to me is because I am deaf. Cesar saw me in the front row using an interpreter during the seminar. I have struggled with several other styles of training and have been frustrated since they heavily rely on "verbal" commands. Your technique works and is easy for me to use. The dogs don't care that I am deaf and I can still be their pack leader.
I have shared my DVDs with my fellow deaf friends who also are learning a lot from your techniques. We all thank you for closed captioning all of your materials. Next year when you come to Columbus expect to see a large deaf section in the front!
Sincerely,
PJ Estes
